Romania’s Transylvania region

The city of Sibiu is located in the valley of the Cibin River. The wooded foothills of the Carpathian Mountains are located in the southern part of the city. Located to the north is the rural cultural landscape of the Transylvanians. This area was shaped by German-speaking colonists who settled in the Carpathian arch during the 11th century. In over 8 centuries, they created a cultural landscape that remains very original to this day and attracts tourists in increasing numbers.

Anyone visiting the region surrounding Sibiu for the first time is sure to be surprised by the area’s beauty and diversity – and by the hospitality of the people there.
